It's probably a good idea to see your credit scores BEFORE you apply for a mortgage.  Knowing your credit scores PRIOR to an underwriter seeing them is wise and can save you a lot of time and aggravation.  If the credit report shows any mistakes, you may be able to fix it with the Credit Bureaus BEFORE submitting a formal mortgage application.

Do you know one of the FIRST questions a mortgage consultant will ask you PRIOR to reviewing a mortgage application? What are your credit scores?

Knowing your credit scores in advance may let you know if you are eligible for which mortgage programs. For example, an FHA mortgage is more lenient than a conventional conforming mortgage. Did you know that the underwriter reviews all the debt on the credit report to determine debt-to-income ratios? Can you afford the mortgage? It's important that your credit history be accurate with no mistakes.
